Still setting up the blog
December 15, 2008
In the next couple of days, some formatting things might get screwy, and you might notice more content/links/edited posts. I’m putting some of the finishing touches on my blog. So, this page is still under construction — if you see something freaky, I probably did it.
Brother,
I kinda curious on how you said that the Brewers have already lost Ben Sheets (unless I haven’t heard about Sheets going somewhere else yet). I wouldn’t pull the trigger on that just yet. Even though the Yankees way overpaid for CC, and the only reason I say that is because there was no other offer in the ballpark, I don’t think that they’re going to be completely stupid with their money. The Yankees have to recognize that Sheet hasn’t pitched too many full seasons, and they still have Peavy to buy.
I still think the Brewers have a more realistic shot at re-signing Sheets than they ever actually did with CC (resigning CC was a unrealistic dream for us Crew fans).
Though I would personally like Sheets to take a hike…
PS. I give Teddy-Boy 1 year…not on the kill Thompson bandwagon quite yet…things can change in one year in the NFL…but he has 1 more year…
The problem with resigning Sheets is that he’s an incredible injury risk. Teams like the Yankees, Red Sox, et al (not that they would, these are just examples) can afford to spend a little extra money on a really risky player like Sheets. The Brewers could definitely give him a good offer, but other teams are willing to risk even more money, and Sheets has made it pretty clear he’s going for money. The Texas Rangers have been linked to him pretty well…
